Multi-branch growth needs consistent records, clear branch ownership and reporting that still lets the owner see the whole business.
Standardise the basics
Use consistent service names, product records and operating rules where the branches genuinely offer the same thing. Avoid creating unnecessary differences that make reporting harder to compare.
Keep branch activity attributable
Bookings, sales, expenses and stock should be recorded against the correct branch. Once staff begin using 'whichever branch is easiest', management loses visibility quickly.
Move stock transparently
Use branch transfers rather than independent quantity changes. This creates a clearer trail when inventory moves between locations.
Compare, then investigate
Branch comparisons are a starting point. A lower-sales branch may have lower capacity, different service mix or a temporary staffing issue. Use the numbers to ask better questions, not to jump immediately to conclusions.
